Attack of the pink tentacle!

Welcome friends, family and interested onlookers to the official kickoff of my Disney Nautilus inspired work space!

Work space for what you ask? Working R/C model ships, submarines and regular plastic model kits of anything that strikes my fancy. Thats for what. Instead of a bland 4 wall square room I am going for a little pizzaz, and neato factor. Please note the comments tag under every post here. Feel free to comment on anything anytime.

The pictures here represent the first steps in the process of making hundreds of 1 inch wide half-spheres to represent steel rivets which will eventually be attached to the walls and furniture for that authentic Victorian steamship look. The manly pink tentacle thing is the mold I made to cast these hundereds of rivets from wooden masters glued down, with the pink being a fortunate coincidence since it matches so well with my eyes.

Of course its also deadly as you can see as it attacks our heroine here...

Cool, Tom!

Tell us where you got the wooden spheres; what type of RTV for the mold; which casting resin you're using. Inquiring minds want to know!

And don't leave those loose rivets lying around on the floor -- or getting up in the middle of the night to hit the head will be an even less pleasant experience. In other words, "Collision Speed, Full," 'bro! Welcome to rivet mania! I'm glad that in my world it's on a much smaller scale!
